Boswell's New Car: The Story Continues

Well, what can I say. After putting up a pool to which many of my readers responded, some with detailed critiques of the cars in question, I wandered off and got something completely different. I have my reasons, however. One of the aspects of owning my Land Rover which I took for granted at the time was that I always had enough room to store the computers and junk I have to carry around in connection with my business. Furthermore, I never had to worry much about winter weather.

The car I needed, then, would be both roomy and safe in the winter. Also, it couldn't swallow gasoline the way the Discovery did - I felt like I was actively poisoning the environment every time I drove the Disco. Also, it should be safe, to help placate Mrs. Boswell. I was all ready to order a Subaru Legacy 2.5GT wagon, but then I came across a fantastic three-year Saab lease, and the results are below....

I know what you're thinking. "Forget the car, ol' Boswell looks a little chubby." Yes, it's true that I've been working too much and not riding enough. Fear not, though, by Christmas I'll be back in shape. Anyway, the SIQ (Saab In Question) is a black 2000 9-3 Turbo, stick shift, leather, sunroof, CD, et cetera. It is a fantastic car, very quick, very quiet (so much so that I have to remember to change from fourth to fifth gear on the freeway) and very spacious. You will probably see it, along with my Saris rack, at the Christmas Nationals.

As for the Audi loyalists out there... Mrs. Boswell has a mind of her own, and instead of getting the Passat 4Motion I recommended for her, I think she will be ordering a 2.7T A6 around December. No, it won't be black (I don't have any influence on her at all), and no, I won't be allowed to go tearing around I-270 in it.

Thanks again to everyone who voted. I'll see you on the road... and on the track, ha ha...
